Tips On Flying On A Plane For The First Time

This will tell you the most comfortable way to travel when you're flying for the first time on a plan. Everything from packing to landing.

1.

If you can, try to fit all your clothes and other packing items in a carry-on bag.

2.

Always make sure your bags have an easy way to be carried (ex. wheels, strap for back etc.). This will make it much more comfortable to carry luggage around the airport.

3.

Take the smallest possible bag (NOTE: If you're going to be buying souvenirs make sure there is space for that).

4.

Roll up any non-wrinkling clothes in a cylinder (this will provide for more space).

5.

Try to get to airport early, check in and get boarding pass on time.

6.

Looking out the window can be really fun, especially for small kids. Beware of airplane sickness though, and bring some motion sickness tablets just in case!

7.

Walk through your trip and make sure you have everything you need.tion

8.

Do not put any camera with film in checked luggage (this will ruin film).

9.

Bring some form(s) of entertainment. Anything that has headphones is ideal because certain passengers can be annoying.

10.

Wear comfortable and warm clothes. The air condition in a plane can be very cold sometimes so it's advisable to wear a garment with a collar to protect your neck. In any case, layers are your best bet.

 11.

If the climate allows, wear sandals or other "see-through" shoes (if it is too cold, wear shoes that are easy to take off). This is helpful because they will need to check your footwear at security.

 12.

Make sure to leave your house early. To leave enough time for security and to ensure that you do not miss your flight, aim to get there at least an hour and a half or even two hours before your flight takes off. Who knows, maybe the security lines will be almost an hour long.

 13.

Make sure loose change is in wallet or coin purse (this is so you don't need to take out all your spare change at security).

 14.

Only take essential things in your pockets.

 15.

Don't wear a belt or any other clothing with metal.

 16.

If you get airsick, or need to sleep, remember to take proper medication.

17.

Keep all valuables in carry-on luggage or pockets (this way they are guaranteed not to get lost/stolen with your checked baggage).

 18.

Chew gum on the plane in case your ears pop while lifting off or landing. Over the counter medicine for congestion can be especially helpful if you think you need it.

 19.

Always carry medication and medical supplies onto the airplane with you. Leaving them in checked bags may mean not having the medication you need if your checked luggage is lost or delayed.

 20.

Always check for upgrades (see "How to get an upgrade to first class").

21.

At the end of the flight be prepared to get your luggage and walk out ASAP or you will have to wait a while.
